The Clinical Outcomes Manager is responsible for providing the organization, management and influence to support clinical performance improvement initiatives for Mercy Health Care. This position will interact with and influence individuals and groups of physicians, office managers, nurse managers, process improvement teams and other co-workers by providing clinical process improvement support. A strong depth of general acute care clinical knowledge is a pre-requisite for this position. The skills and ability to research current evidence-based medicine, develop algorithms, and create standardized Epic order sets are key responsibilities. Auditing medical records, use of spreadsheet and data base software and developing, modeling and teaching the principles of performance improvement in a complex environment are critical job duties for this position. The person in this position must be able to present clinical information to physicians and co-workers in a credible and knowledgeable fashion. This position is responsible for influencing processes and patterns of care throughout the institution, in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of patient care. Minimum Qualifications
/Education:/Associate Degree in Nursing acceptable for position entry coupled with 10 years of acute care nursing experience, experience in quality management and pursuit of BSN upon hire and until degree achieved.
/
Experience:/Minimum of five years acute care experience in a general acute care setting, with a strong clinical background.
/Licensure:/Must have either a current RN Temporary Permit/RN license in the State of Missouri.
/Other:/Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven leadership qualities. Ability to make and give presentations to a variety of co-workers, both physician, clinical and support staff. Knowledgeable about the principles of continuous quality improvement, and FOCUS PDCA. Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines. Knowledge of the internet, evidence based medicine, and analytical skills in Excel, Microsoft Access, and PowerPoint. Proven administrative skills in areas of planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating work that is to be done. Ability to act independently with minimal oversight, self-motivated. Occasional travel may be required. Ability to travel throughout the hospital on a high frequency basis.
Preferred Qualifications
/Education:/Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is strongly desired. Master's degree in related health care field preferred.
